Structuring your videos?

I feel like since my personality isn’t very outgoing and explosive I compensate by structuring my content around my friends and I struggle solo. Currently a lot of my content is compilation-like where I’ve cut together the really good bits (which is fine but it’s not sustainable if I want to put out a video more often than once a month at my current speed). Nor is it sustainable if the different cuts come from different games with different people, it just makes it a mess that is hard to follow.

Compilation-like + very funny when done + includes the people who watch it (my friends) + relatively freeform + the game is secondary for the most part – can take a long time to record as I have to be there at the right time and people need to be in the moodediting takes a long time – need to make proxies for editing which takes up time and disc space

Combine that with a desire to have a snappy edit and I am quickly overwhelmed. I just don’t have enough time to record AND edit the content to the standard that I want so something has to give. I’ve thought about starting a recording session with a certain idea in mind since it would lend itself relatively well to the games my friends and I mostly play (moba). However that would mean that I am locked into a certain idea and can’t go with the flow as much which is what I’ve been doing

Recording with a (gameplay) plan + gives me a framework to go with + I can record one session of gameplay and get one whole video out of it + have to make less proxies which makes the video edit turnaround faster + pretty engaging if you are there just for the game – have to go through with the original video plan (or reframe it later which can take some time) – jokes have to be contained in one video as I can’t follow the joke progression throughout the night(s) – snappy edit can make the video too short (or if I don’t edit too much it can also offer me an easier way to output more minutes of content with the drawback of deviating from my original editing style) – focuses more on the gameplay aspect than the people

What else could I do? Could I record with a plan but instead of a gameplay plan it could be going in with an interesting topic to discuss?

Recording with a topic to discuss + more about the personalities + relatively freeform + game is secondary + gives a framework + one session of recording can make a video + benefits from a snappy edit as the quiet thinking bits will be edited out thus making it an engaging video to watch – can take a long time as people got to be in the mood and I can’t try the same topic again tomorrow if people weren’t – need to make proxies for editing

The trouble with most of these points is that I could actually reframe them from negatives to positives and that not all points are equal in “weight”
